St Ann's man charged with multiple gun-related offences

Twen­ty-nine-year-old Fredixon Tyn­dale was grant­ed $350,000 or a $35,000 cash bail when he ap­peared be­fore Port of Spain Mag­is­trate Mau­reen Ba­boolal-Gafoor yes­ter­day charged with mul­ti­ple gun-re­lat­ed of­fences. 

Tyn­dale of St Ann's was ar­rest­ed and charged with pos­ses­sion of a firearm, pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion, shoot­ing with in­tent, pos­ses­sion of a firearm with in­tent and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion with in­tent by Cpl Carac­ci­o­lo of the Bel­mont Po­lice Sta­tion. 

This fol­lows in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to a re­port of a shoot­ing which oc­curred in Bel­mont on Ju­ly 15th. Of­fi­cers of the Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment Op­er­a­tions Unit, the In­ter-Agency Task Force Strike Team the Port of Spain Task Force, the Air Sup­port Unit and the Ca­nine Branch, con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise across sev­er­al Di­vi­sions yes­ter­day.

 Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, based on in­for­ma­tion, the of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to a bas­ket­ball court in Port of Spain, where they found one Tau­rus pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing five rounds of am­mu­ni­tion and an ex­tend­ed mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 18 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion. 

The same par­ty of of­fi­cers then ven­tured to a ceme­tery in Tu­na­puna where a search re­sult­ed in the dis­cov­ery of 100 ful­ly grown mar­i­jua­na trees and 200 seedlings. The plants were sub­se­quent­ly de­stroyed. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
