A Preysal Secondary student, who was caught entering the compound with a knife, is expected to appear in court today.
Police said two security officers were conducting searches on students on Tuesday before they entered the school in Central Trinidad.
When one of the officers searched a Form Three student around 8.20 am, a sharpened curved knife was found in a black side pouch, along with a black handle.
The student was taken to the principal and his mother was contacted, as well as the police. He was arrested and taken to the police station, then transferred to the Oropouche Juvenile Booking Centre, where he was charged by PC Alibocus for possession of an offensive weapon.
He was released on bail in the care of his mother but is expected to appear in court today.
