The suspect in the shooting death of 15-year-old Isabella Teelucksingh has surrendered to police and is currently in police custody.

Investigators are now calling on eyewitnesses to come forward and lodge official reports to officers of the Homicide Region 3.

Guardian Media was told CCTV surveillance footage in the Savary Road area was taken by investigators to aid in their investigations.

Guardian Media understands the 45-year-old walked into the San Fernando Homicide Bureau around 4 pm on Tuesday.

According to a police report, at 6.45 pm on Sunday a 55-year-old man of Kacy Avenue, Savary Road, Las Lomas #1 employed with Hope Alive Old Age Home was at Sameer's Mini Mart located along Savary Road when the suspect, 45, driving a sliver coloured Nissan Cube registration unknown, saw him at the mini mart.

Police said the suspect stopped the vehicle walked up to the victim and proceeded to cuff him about the body. The suspect then got into the vehicle and drove home.

The police report stated that whilst at his home an exchange of words allegedly took place between him and some of the villagers who were standing on the road. The suspect then allegedly came out with a shot gun and fired one shot in their direction hitting Teelucksingh, 15, of Kacy Avenue, Savary Road and her aunt, 20, of Kelly Village, Caroni.

Teelucksingh was shot in the head, her aunt in the pelvic area and the family's dog 'Spotty' was also shot on top of the right shoulder.

Teelucksingh and the aunt were taken to the hospital where they were treated and warded. Teelucksingh, who was eventually placed on life support, succumbed to her injuries around midday on Monday.

Her aunt underwent emergency surgery and is still warded in hospital.

Villagers subsequently refuted the police's report claiming that Teelucksingh was among a group of children on their way to a relative's home when the suspect allegedly shot them from a distance.
