Police have detained three men for a robbery in SouthPark.

Quick work by po­lice re­sult­ed in the ar­rest of three sus­pects whom po­lice be­lieve staged a rob­bery at Is­land Beers Chill and Grill at South­Park in San Fer­nan­do on Tues­day evening.

The of­fi­cers cor­doned off the area and man­aged to ar­rest the thieves as they tried to flee in a get­away car. One of the sus­pects was caught hid­ing at KFC about 100 feet away.

The stolen cash which was about $6,000 was al­so re­cov­ered.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said around 1:25 pm, two rob­bers with guns en­tered Is­land Beers Chill and Grill. They forced the pa­trons to lie on the ground while they robbed them of cash.

A tip-off was sent to the po­lice who re­spond­ed im­me­di­ate­ly.

About 15 of­fi­cers from the Emer­gency Re­sponse Pa­trol as well as Task Force and CID per­son­nel con­verged on the mall.

The rob­bers re­alised they were sur­round­ed and tried to beat a hasty re­treat.

The po­lice pur­sued the get­away car.

They lat­er ap­pre­hend­ed the men at Thorn Hill Road, in Co­coyea.

The men were not wear­ing masks at the time of the rob­bery.

All three who are in their 20's were tak­en to the San Fer­nan­do po­lice sta­tion where they were in­ter­ro­gat­ed.

They will be placed on ID pa­rades this week. Once charged they will ap­pear be­fore a San Fer­nan­do Mag­is­trate.
