Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources Geoffrey R. Pyatt

The Unit­ed States As­sis­tant Sec­re­tary for En­er­gy Re­sources Ge­of­frey Py­att will vis­it Trinidad and To­ba­go on Mon­day and Tues­day for talks on en­er­gy-re­lat­ed mat­ters, the US Em­bassy has said.

Py­att will meet and hold dis­cus­sions with gov­ern­ment min­is­ters, lead­er­ship from the en­er­gy sec­tor, and di­verse en­er­gy se­cu­ri­ty stake­hold­ers.

Dur­ing his vis­it, he will tour the Point Lisas In­dus­tri­al Es­tate to un­der­stand Trinidad and To­ba­go’s role in glob­al en­er­gy and food se­cu­ri­ty and will en­gage women work­ing in the en­er­gy sec­tor to re­in­force the Biden-Har­ris Ad­min­is­tra­tion’s Na­tion­al Com­mit­ment to Women’s Eco­nom­ic Em­pow­er­ment, high­light the ex­ten­sive con­tri­bu­tions of women to Trinidad and To­ba­go’s en­er­gy val­ue chain, and em­pha­size the val­ue of women’s voic­es in en­er­gy.

The As­sis­tant Sec­re­tary will al­so host a clean hy­dro­gen round­table to dis­cuss Trinidad and To­ba­go’s po­ten­tial as a clean hy­dro­gen hub.

The vis­it is part of the US Em­bassy’s goal to fur­ther strength­en the bi­lat­er­al re­la­tion­ship be­tween the Unit­ed States and Trinidad and To­ba­go through en­gage­ment to ad­vance shared en­er­gy se­cu­ri­ty ob­jec­tives, a state­ment by the Em­bassy said.
