A Westmoorings woman was stabbed several times by a male relative during an argument on Thursday.
Reports indicate the 26-year-old victim, who lives at St Anthony’s Drive, and the suspect got into an argument at her home around 9.30 pm, during which time the man grabbed a knife and began stabbing her about the body.
Another male relative who was present at the time intervened and broke up the physical altercation.
He then rushed the injured woman to the St James Infirmary, where she was treated before being transferred to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
The victim remained in a stable but critical condition up to yesterday. The suspect, from Maloney Gardens, was being sought by investigators yesterday, as he remained on the run.
The scene was processed and the knife reportedly used in the attack was retrieved from the apartment.
