Madi­son Camp­bell got the lone item for Jew­els FC on the sis­ter-isle in a 1-0 win over arch ri­vals To­ba­go Chi­cas at the Cour­land Recre­ation Ground on Sat­ur­day, when ac­tion in the Women's Foot­ball League (WoLF) con­tin­ued.

It was the sec­ond straight vic­to­ry for the Jew­els women over their Chi­cas coun­ter­parts in con­sec­u­tive week­ends. From the group stage, the teams will then play five ran­dom match­es against teams from Trinidad for the right to qual­i­fy for the knock­out play­off.

Al­so in the sis­ter isle week­end, there was a con­vinc­ing 3-0 vic­to­ry for the Black Pan­thers over Com­bined Ballerz in the sec­ond match of the dou­ble­head­er at the Cour­land Recre­ation Ground. Kay­la Coop­er opened the scor­ing af­ter just the fourth minute of play, on­ly for Gyasi Lewis and Sh­er­ni­ah Al­fred to com­pound the Com­bined Ballerz's trou­bles in the 14th and the 89th min­utes, re­spec­tive­ly.

In one of two Groups in Trinidad, the De­fence Force con­tin­ued their dom­i­nance on the field by ham­mer­ing Ath­let­ic In­ter­na­tion­al Acad­e­my (AIA) 12-0 at the De­fence Force Re­serves Ground in Ch­aguara­mas, al­so on Sat­ur­day.

The trio of Niki­ta Go­sine, Sum­mer Ar­joon and Alex­cia Ali spear­head­ed the win with hat-tricks each, while Sha­nia Lewis (18th minute), Bre­an­na George (19th minute) and for­mer na­tion­al strik­er Aaliyah Prince (64th minute) got the oth­er goals.

Go­sine, the Sec­ondary Schools Foot­ball League (SS­FL) goalscor­ing ace, got her items in the sev­enth, 13th and 83rd min­utes, with Ali get­ting her items in the first minute, the 32nd and 39th min­utes, while Ar­joon's times for glo­ry were record­ed in the 34th, 59th and 81st min­utes.

Last year, Club San­do claimed the League ti­tle by beat­ing AC Port-of-Spain in the fi­nal. De­fence Force clinched the third-place prize while Trinci­ty Na­tion­als was fourth.

For the Cup Tour­na­ment, the Army Coast Guard Com­bi­na­tion women's team placed first, ahead of Club San­do.
