Goal-shoot­er Make­da De Fre­itas had the hot hands as Bermudez dou­bled up on De­fence Force 30-15 to reach the fi­nal of the Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion's Jean Pierre Knock­out Chal­lenge in the Courts All Sec­tors Net­ball League at the East­ern Re­gion­al In­door Sports Are­na, Or­ange Grove Road, Tacarigua on Wednes­day night.

De Fre­itas con­vert­ed 20 of 28 at­tempts and the pair of Kerneisha Greenidge and In­dra An­der­son, who filled the goal-at­tack po­si­tion, con­nect­ed on five goals each from six and nine at­tempts re­spec­tive­ly for the win­ner, which led 15-9 at the half-time whis­tle of the 40-min­utes con­test.

Goal-at­tack Jody Sprott led De­fence Force with nine goals from 20 at­tempts and Cheryl-Ann Milling­ton chipped in with six from 12 as they strug­gled to come to grips with the sti­fling de­fence of Bermudez goal-keep­er Tami­ka Hoyce and goal-de­fence Na­tal­ie Pe­ters. Lat­er, Alea Jag­ger­nauth was sub­sti­tut­ed in as goal-keep­er.

With the win, Bermudez now awaits the win­ner of the re­main­ing semi­fi­nal be­tween Jabloteh and TSTT to be played on Mon­day from 7.15 pm, af­ter the lat­ter oust­ed Mis­cel­la­neous Laven­tille, 26-13 in the lone quar­ter­fi­nal.

There were al­so two Retro Di­vi­sion match­es on the sched­ule, with Po­lice clob­ber­ing Les En­fants 38-14 to re­main un­beat­en, while TSTT edged Jabloteh, 20-17.
