The Boys Under 18's Doubles Finals of the Lease Junior Tennis Tournament brought the curtains down on the first tournament to be held since the relaxation of the coronavirus (CIVID-19) pandemic protocols in Trinidad and Tobago.
The final's brought together four of the country's best young tennis talents in the pair of Ebolum N'wokolo and Saqiv Williams taking on Aiden Carter and Liam Sheppard. Carter and Sheppard jumped out to an early 3-1 lead in the first set at the Trinidad Country Club in Maraval on Wednesday.
However, Nwokolo and Williams, not to be undone, dug deep to claw their way back into the match and took the first set 7-6(5). In the second set, it was more of the same as the boys left it all on the court with four match points being saved in the second set, resulting in the 7-6(5) finish and N'wokolo and Williams being crowned champs in the hard-fought straight-sets win.
