Former Soca Warriors coach Angus Eve led Montserrat to a 1-0 win over Belize in their Group D Second Round Concacaf World Cup qualifier at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Balmain, Couva, on Wednesday.
The lone goal for interim coach Eve and the 'Emerald Boys' came as early as the second minute from Mark Rogers to give his team their first win in three matches in the five-team pool, for three points, the same as Guyana while Belize, who suffered a third straight defeat was eliminated from contention to advance.
Nicaragua and Panama are joint leaders of the group with six points each while Montserrat travels to Guyana next week for their final World Cup qualifier.
