Former Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) president David John Williams died earlier today.
This news of his passing was confirmed by his daughter in social media post: My first and forever love... Rest now, Daddy. I love you eternally..."
Both the TTFA and the Sport Company of T&T (SporTT) extended condolences to the family and friends via their social media platforms.
"The TTFA will like to convey its deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the immediate family and friends of its former president David John-Williams following his passing earlier today.
"David served as president of the Association from November 2015 to November 2019. He was the founder and President of the W Connection Football club with a genuine passion and dedication to the growth of the game.
"Affectionately known as “Presi”, his contributions and commitment over the last decades will be remembered."
TTFA Normalisation Committee chairman Robert Hadad added, “David’s passion for and knowledge of the game will be well remembered. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.”
"The thoughts and prayers of the TTFA and the rest of the football community are with the family and friends of David. May his Soul Rest in Peace," the TTFA release continued.
The board and management of SporTT shared: "Let us always remember his legacy in the sport of football and his contributions to the sporting industry of T&T. RIP"
