For­mer Trinidad and To­ba­go Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion (TTFA) pres­i­dent David John Williams died ear­li­er to­day.

This news of his pass­ing was con­firmed by his daugh­ter in so­cial me­dia post: My first and for­ev­er love... Rest now, Dad­dy. I love you eter­nal­ly..."

Both the TTFA and the Sport Com­pa­ny of T&T (SporTT) ex­tend­ed con­do­lences to the fam­i­ly and friends via their so­cial me­dia plat­forms.

"The TTFA will like to con­vey its deep­est and heart­felt sym­pa­thy to the im­me­di­ate fam­i­ly and friends of its for­mer pres­i­dent David John-Williams fol­low­ing his pass­ing ear­li­er to­day.

"David served as pres­i­dent of the As­so­ci­a­tion from No­vem­ber 2015 to No­vem­ber 2019. He was the founder and Pres­i­dent of the W Con­nec­tion Foot­ball club with a gen­uine pas­sion and ded­i­ca­tion to the growth of the game.

"Af­fec­tion­ate­ly known as “Pre­si”, his con­tri­bu­tions and com­mit­ment over the last decades will be re­mem­bered."

TTFA Nor­mal­i­sa­tion Com­mit­tee chair­man Robert Hadad added, “David’s pas­sion for and knowl­edge of the game will be well re­mem­bered. My thoughts and prayers are with his fam­i­ly at this time.”

"The thoughts and prayers of the TTFA and the rest of the foot­ball com­mu­ni­ty are with the fam­i­ly and friends of David. May his Soul Rest in Peace," the TTFA re­lease con­tin­ued.

The board and man­age­ment of SporTT shared: "Let us al­ways re­mem­ber his lega­cy in the sport of foot­ball and his con­tri­bu­tions to the sport­ing in­dus­try of T&T. RIP"
