Former champion trainer Glenn Mendez will attempt to stop champion trainer John O'Brien who will attack with horses in today's feature event over 1,600 metres on the turf course at Santa Rosa Park in Arima.

The feature Handicap for Three-year-olds Horses Rated 80 and Over will see nine horses facing the starter in what promises to be a competitive feature.

Heading the field is the Glenn Mendez trained, Horse of The Year 2019, Juice Man who has been allotted 50 kilos in the event. Juice Man will be partnered by Ricky Jadoo and if this horse takes to the turf, this race is as good as finished. With 50 kilos Juice Man is primed to star in the event. Mendez will also have the talented Spoke In Yuh Wheel in the line-up and he will be ridden by Learie C Seecharan with 51 kilos. This one has an outstanding chance in the event. He will certainly stay well and if Juice Man fails to fire he could land the spoils for Mendez.

Champion trainer John O'Brien's three-pronged attack with General JN, Apocalypse and Thisonesforron. Kerron Khelawan will be astride the top-weight General JN who will carry 58 kilos but this horse is unproven on the turf.

Champion jockey Brian Boodramsing will partner Apocalypse who will carry 52.5 kilos and this horse must have a realistic chance if taking to the turf.

However, the nine-year-old Thisonesforron which will be ridden by apprentice Kimal Santo must have an outstanding chance of winning this event. He is not the force of old but showed enough last time out, to let you know that with 52.5 kilos he could upset them all especially if the turf is good to soft or softer.

The talented Root of Jesse who is well treated with 51 kilos must have a great chance on his best form. Trainer Harriram Gobin attacks the event with two runers in Commanding Fashion and Stockyard. The former has shown little in her in the last few starts while Ronald Ali will partner the stable's main hope Stockyard which is allotted 52 kilos.

There will be seven races on today's programme and post time is 1:05 pm.
