Mor­vant Cale­do­nia got a goal from three dif­fer­ent play­ers to ease past Pris­ons Ser­vice 3-1 in the sec­ond match of a dou­ble­head­er in the T&T Pre­mier Foot­ball League Tier I at the Ari­ma Mu­nic­i­pal Sta­di­um, Ari­ma on Sun­day.

Sean Bon­val opened the scor­ing for Mor­vant Cale­do­nia in the 14th minute but a minute in­to time added on at the end of the half, Pris­ons Ser­vice got on lev­el terms thanks to Akeem Bib­by-Bai­ley.

In the sec­ond half, Mor­vant Cale­do­nia start­ed the bet­ter of both teams and re­gained the lead in the 65th through Joshua Alexan­der be­fore Ro­mario Burke added an in­sur­ance item in the 85th to move his team one spot up the 12-team ta­ble with 14 points from 19 match­es in the ninth spot.

At the top of the ta­ble is De­fence Force with 50 points from 20 match­es, one ahead of AC Port-of-Spain, who has a match in hand and five more than third-placed Tiger Tanks Club San­do while fourth-placed Ter­minix La Hor­quet­ta Rangers has 43 points, head­ing in­to Round 21 Match Day Wednes­day (June 14).

All eyes will be fo­cused on the La Hor­quet­ta Recre­ation Ground, La Hor­quet­ta with the top four clubs all in­volved in clash­es which could go a long way in de­ter­min­ing the in­au­gur­al cham­pi­ons.

In Wednes­day’s open­er at La Hor­quet­ta, AC Port-of-Spain who will once again be with­out Jameel Nep­tune, Du­ane Muck­ette, Mar­vin Phillip, Michael Poon-Angeron, and Che Ben­ny due to na­tion­al team du­ty will meet Club San­do, who will al­so be with­out na­tion­al play­ers Alvin Jones, Nathaniel James, Re­al Gill, and Josi­ah Trim­ming­ham in a match both teams need to win to stay in ti­tle con­tention.

Two hours lat­er, host Rangers, mi­nus na­tion­al team duo Kadeem Corbin, and Ross Rus­sell Jr meet De­fence Force who will al­so be miss­ing the key fig­ures of Justin Sadoo, Justin Gar­cia and Kai­him Thomas as they go af­ter full points as well.

In the fi­nal round of match­es card­ed for the week­end, De­fence Force and AC PoS, who has a match in hand ver­sus Pris­ons Ser­vice go head-to-head while Club San­do en­ter­tains Point Fortin Civic and Po­lice meets Rangers.
