Na­pari­ma Col­lege shot to the top of the stand­ings in the Pow­er­Gen Sec­ondary Schools crick­et league Pre­mier­ship di­vi­sion, when they de­feat­ed Bar­rack­pore West by six wick­ets in their sec­ond round en­counter in Bar­rack­pore yes­ter­day.

Naps, which took care of new­com­ers St. Bene­dicts Col­lege last week, con­tin­ued their win­ning ways and re­strict­ed Bar­rack­pore to 180 all out thanks in the main to spin­ner Justin Gan­goo 3/12 and Ryan Ban­doo 2/45. Skip­per Gan­goo had a won­der­ful game and re­turned to score an un­beat­en 59 bat­ting at num­ber three to take his school home at 181/4. In Port-of-Spain, Fa­ti­ma Col­lege opened their ac­count af­ter the team's first round game against Sig­nal Hill was aban­doned last week. Miguel Paty boys bat­ted first and scored a healthy 267 for eight with An­del Nicholas mak­ing 94 to lead the way. Cara­pichaima in re­ply could muster on­ly 102 as Ja­cobs Young-Kasim 3/47 and Joshua Wil­son 3/25 proved a hand­ful.

The oth­er two Pre­mier­ship games were not played. Hillview's clash against Bene­dicts will be played to­day due to an un­pre­pared ground and Sig­nal Hill could not get air­line tick­ets to trav­el to Trinidad for their game against Pre­sen­ta­tion Col­lege, Ch­agua­nas.

In the cham­pi­onships, Man­zanil­la con­tin­ues to catch the eye, as they ham­mered QRC by 217 runs. Alex Ali who scored 87 last week scored 129 to lead his school to 310/9 and Christoph Lewis nabbed 3/10 to bowl out QRC for 93.
