Pit & Pub wins big in NPL 10-Ball

Pit & Pub, of Curepe, were em­phat­ic win­ners in Round 7 of the Na­tion­al Pool League 10 ball com­pe­ti­tion on Wednes­day evening. The Ravy Joseph-2led team de­feat­ed Reel Steel Shot­ters 5-0, con­demn­ing the Fyz­abad Shot­ters to their sev­enth straight loss.

Pit & Pub, play­ing away from home, start­ed the rout with Na­tion­al play­er Menon Her­rera (5), who came away with a 5-1 vic­to­ry over Bran­don Deo, de­spite los­ing the first frame. Sha­heed 'Fly' Kon­di­ah (4) took on Fe­lix 'Dan' Reyes (3) in the sec­ond game and al­so came back from a first frame loss to win 4-1.

The dou­bles pair of Anil Ra­mad­har and Adri­an Man­ga­roo, rac­ing to four, gave noth­ing away as they ran out 4 nil win­ners. Car­los Poy­er (4) was al­so ruth­less in his de­mo­li­tion of Ryan Par­dasie (3) win­ning four straight and the self-pro­claimed 'Youngest and Bad­dest' play­er in the league, Ravy Joseph, com­plet­ed the shut out with a 4-3 win against Shot­ters cap­tain Dilip 'Pep­per' Deo with both play­ers rac­ing to four.

With the win, Pit & Pub move to the sec­ond spot on the league ta­ble.

While one team from Curepe was away in Fyz­abad, the oth­er was at home at Gold­en Arch­es II. The Spe­cial­ists, cap­tained by Na­tion­al stand out Clint Bachan, were host­ing Up­per Deck of St. James. The Spe­cial­ists were com­ing off a shock loss against Liq­uida­torz in Round 6, while Up­per Deck were com­ing in on the back of a sur­prise win against Ken­ny's. The mo­men­tum seemed to be with the St. James out­fit as they won the en­counter 3-2.

For Up­per Deck, Adri­an Don Mo­ra, Keris 'Pantz' Carew and the dou­bles pair of Anslem 'Vil­las' Vil­lafana and Ian Mc­Call were vic­to­ri­ous with Carew win­ning the de­cid­ing fifth game. For the Spe­cial­ists, Na­tion­al play­er Vishaal Singh and Desmond 'Blade' Nicholls won the first and fourth games re­spec­tive­ly.

In Debe, Unit­ed Stars re­turned to the top of the stand­ings with a 3-2 win over Head­quar­ters. Lyn­don Ramkissoon, Aaron Raghoo­nanan and the pair of Naz­im Mo­hammed and Wayne 'Hol­i­day' Rat­tans­ingh gave the 'Stars' the win, while Dami­an Solomon and Nicholas Ram­lakha got the con­so­la­tion wins for Head­quar­ters in the fi­nal two games.

In oth­er games, Ken­ny's re­turned to win­ning ways beat­ing Pun­ish­ers 3-2 at Ken­ny's in Ch­agua­nas and Liq­uida­torz' hot streak con­tin­ued away from home with a 3-2 win over Spar Unit­ed at Re­form Vil­lage. Liq­uida­torz has now won three in a row.
