ST JOHN’S, An­tigua – Crick­et West In­dies (CWI) will com­mence a ma­jor year of women’s crick­et as the CG Unit­ed Women’s Su­per50 Cup and T20 Blaze re­turn to St Vin­cent and the Grenadines from Sat­ur­day 10 Jan­u­ary to Feb­ru­ary 1, 2026.

The lim­it­ed-over tour­na­ments once again bring to­geth­er sides from Bar­ba­dos, Ja­maica, the Lee­ward Is­lands, Guyana, Trinidad and To­ba­go and the host, the Wind­ward Is­lands, to pro­vide a strong com­pet­i­tive plat­form at the start of a busy crick­et cal­en­dar for the West In­dies Women.

Guyana claimed their maid­en re­gion­al women’s ti­tle in last year’s Blaze af­ter an un­de­feat­ed run in the com­pe­ti­tion, which cul­mi­nat­ed in a Su­per Over vic­to­ry over Ja­maica in the fi­nal. Ear­li­er in the year, Trinidad and To­ba­go se­cured the Su­per50 Cup crown with a sev­en-wick­et win over Bar­ba­dos in the fi­nal.

Fol­low­ing the tour­na­ments, West In­dies Women will host Sri Lan­ka in a white-ball se­ries in late Feb­ru­ary, be­fore do­ing bat­tle with Aus­tralia in an all-for­mat se­ries the fol­low­ing month.

West In­dies off-spin­ner Kar­ish­ma Ramharack will lead the Trinidad and To­ba­go Red Force Di­vas as they em­bark on a high-stakes, dual-tour­na­ment cam­paign. The re­gion­al women’s sea­son of­fi­cial­ly bowls off to­mor­row against Bar­ba­dos at the Arnos Vale Play­ing Field in Kingstown in the T20 for­mat, with the Di­vas set to com­pete in both the Crick­et West In­dies (CWI) T20 Blaze and the CG Unit­ed Su­per50 Cup.

​Ramharack, the reign­ing T&T Crick­et Board (TTCB) “Fe­male In­ter­na­tion­al Crick­eter of the Year”, takes the helm of a squad en­ter­ing the sea­son with two dis­tinct mis­sions: de­fend­ing their 50-over crown and re­claim­ing the T20 ti­tle.

The T&T team will be coached by for­mer West In­dies women’s skip­per Meris­sa Aguilleira, and she will be aim­ing to im­prove on last year’s fifth-place fin­ish.

Ramharack will be sup­port­ed by vice-cap­tain Shunelle Sawh, a ris­ing wick­et­keep­er/bat­ter in the re­gion­al tour­na­ments.

The 14-mem­ber squad fea­tures a po­tent mix of vet­er­an in­ter­na­tion­al ex­pe­ri­ence and fresh tal­ent. Leg­endary off-spin­ner Anisa Mo­hammed, ex­plo­sive bat­ter Brit­ney Coop­er, and sea­soned medi­um-pac­er Lee-Ann Kir­by pro­vide the back­bone of the team.

Con­verse­ly, the in­clu­sion of 15-year-old leg-spin­ner Shriya Jairam and West In­dies Un­der-19 stand­out Sama­ra Ram­nath high­lights a heavy em­pha­sis on spin va­ri­ety for the Vin­cent­ian pitch­es.

This sum­mer will al­so be a ma­jor one for the women, fea­tur­ing a Tri-Na­tion se­ries against Ire­land and Pak­istan, along with the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, which the re­gion­al side has been dili­gent­ly prepar­ing for.

CWI’s Di­rec­tor of Crick­et, Miles Bas­combe, said the T20 Blaze and Su­per50 Cup would be in­stru­men­tal in prepar­ing the re­gion­al side for in­ter­na­tion­al com­pe­ti­tion.

“These tour­na­ments are a crit­i­cal start­ing point for what promis­es to be an ex­treme­ly de­mand­ing and im­por­tant year for women’s crick­et in the Caribbean.

“The CG Unit­ed Women’s Su­per50 Cup and the T20 Blaze pro­vide the com­pet­i­tive in­ten­si­ty and per­for­mance bench­marks that are es­sen­tial as we build to­wards a busy in­ter­na­tion­al sched­ule, fea­tur­ing ma­jor bi­lat­er­al se­ries and the ICC T20 World Cup,” Bas­combe said.

“Strong re­gion­al com­pe­ti­tion re­mains the foun­da­tion of our high-per­for­mance path­way, and we ex­pect these tour­na­ments to once again high­light and pro­duce play­ers ready to per­form at the in­ter­na­tion­al lev­el.”
