ST JOHN’S, Antigua – President of Cricket West Indies (CWI), Dr Kishore Shallow has revealed that the looming appointments of a chief operating officer and a chief commercial officer are among several new positions being created at the regional institution.
Dr Shallow said two persons had already been recruited for the new roles and were expected to start on October 1.
Additionally, he said with current chief executive officer, Johnny Grave set to leave CWI in October, the search to find his replacement would commence in the next two weeks.
“We will start the recruitment process for a new CEO in the next two weeks or thereabout. Additionally, in terms of the new roles created, we have created a chief operations officer role, and we expect to have someone recruited for that role and starting in that role on October 1,” Dr Shallow said while speaking at CWI’s quarterly press conference on Thursday.
“We are making a change of the usual commercial head role, so rather than it being the commercial director, we are moving forward with a new title of chief commercial officer, which is in keeping with modern day practice of these types of organisations.
“So we will have that individual who has already been recruited, a highly competent and experienced individual who has worked with ICC and other reputable organisations. At this time, I will prefer not to name him but over the next couple weeks or so we will announce this individual,” he added.
Dr Shallow said while Nyssa Pierre had recently been named as the new communications and media manager, two media officers would also be joining the organisation over the next two weeks.
