ZURICH, Switzer­land – Top Ja­maican in­ter­na­tion­al Khadi­ja ‘Bun­ny’ Shaw is among 16 play­ers nom­i­nat­ed for the Women’s Play­er of the Year award at the 2024 FI­FA Best Awards.

Nom­i­nees have been se­lect­ed based on their per­for­mances be­tween Au­gust 21, 2023, and Au­gust 10, 2024.

Dur­ing that pe­ri­od, the 27-year-old Man­ches­ter City for­ward has been spec­tac­u­lar, hav­ing scored three hat-tricks for her club and be­com­ing just the sec­ond non-Eu­ro­pean play­er to win the Gold­en Boot in the Women’s Su­per League (WSL).

Shaw’s 21 league goals for City were al­so the joint third high­est in a sin­gle WSL cam­paign.

She al­so copped sev­er­al awards in­clud­ing the PFA Women’s Play­er of the Year, the 2023-2024 WSL Play­er of the Sea­son and was al­so named the Foot­ball Writ­ers’ As­so­ci­a­tion Women’s Foot­baller of the Year for the 2023-204 sea­son.

Her Man­ches­ter City team­mate Lau­ren Hemp is al­so among the nom­i­nees for the pres­ti­gious award.

Spain and Barcelona mid­field­er Ai­tana Bon­mati, who took home the award in 2023, is al­so among the nom­i­nees again.

Vot­ing for the ninth an­nu­al awards is open on Fi­fa.com and clos­es on De­cem­ber 10.

The win­ner will be an­nounced dur­ing an awards cer­e­mo­ny in Jan­u­ary 2025.
