Anderson Mahase snared four wickets before Kofi James blasted an unbeaten half century as the Leeward Islands Thunder demolished the Windward Islands Infernos by eight wickets in their Eliminator match here at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba on Friday.
In their worst batting performance of the tournament, the Infernos were bundled out for 69 in 14.5 overs with Mahase producing a clinical bowling performance to finish with 4-10.
James then scored 56 not out from just 34 balls to propel the Thunder to 70 for two in 9.1 overs.
The result meant the Thunder revenged their loss to the Infernos on Wednesday and also set up a final matchup against the Trinidad and Tobago Legions on Saturday.
After electing to bat after winning the toss, the Infernos lost captain Alick Athanaze and Teddy Bishop early on to fall to 19 for two.
Despite those two losses, Johann Jeremiah and Noelle Leo maintained a decent scoring rate, pushing the score to 40 for two in the fifth over.
However, it all went downhill for the Infernos after Leo was dismissed by James for 12, with Jeremiah and Shadrack Descarte following soon after to see them stumble to 55 for five.
Mahase then joined in on the action, accounting for the wickets of Dillon Douglas, Keon Gatson, Ryan John and Darel Cyrus, as the Infernos lost their last five wickets for 14 runs.
Micah McKenzie (2-10), Nathan Edward (2-21) and James (2-28) all took two wickets.
Medium pacer Ryan John then claimed the wickets of Jamie Cornelius for four and Jewel Andrew for two, to give the Infernos hope of pulling off an unlikely victory.
Those dreams were smashed by James, though, as he hit six sixes and three fours in his innings, while dominating an unbroken stand of 41 with Mikyle Louis, who finished on five not out.
