T&T senior team scores resounding 10-2 victory over Turks and Caicos at Caribbean Cup of Darts

Fol­low­ing a com­mand­ing per­for­mance in round three of the Caribbean Cup of Darts in Ja­maica, the T&T se­nior team main­tained their un­beat­en record with a re­sound­ing 10-2 vic­to­ry over Turks and Caicos on Wednes­day (Ju­ly 24).

The com­pe­ti­tion con­sist­ed of 12 match­es di­vid­ed in­to three blocks, with team T&T as­sert­ing their dom­i­nance from the out­set. By the con­clu­sion of the first block, they had al­ready es­tab­lished a 3-1 lead.

Block 2 wit­nessed a clean sweep, spear­head­ed by Char­maine Har­ring­ton Mar­shall's im­pres­sive 2-0 sin­gles win. In the fi­nal block, T&T se­cured a 3-1 vic­to­ry, so­lid­i­fy­ing their po­si­tion in sec­ond place with­out a loss and with a game in hand. The se­nior team was sched­uled to face Ba­hamas in the morn­ing ses­sion and Bar­ba­dos in the evening ses­sion on Fri­day (Ju­ly 26).

The youth team par­tic­i­pat­ed in two match­es. The first match was again­st­Ba­hamas in the morn­ing. The game be­gan well with T&T lead­ing 2-0 af­ter the first two blocks. De­spite Ba­hamas mak­ing a come­back to lev­el the score at 2-2, T&T man­aged to go ahead 3-2 and had an op­por­tu­ni­ty to win the en­tire match. How­ev­er, Ba­hamas held on, re­sult­ing in a 3-3 draw. In the af­ter­noon, the team faced Bar­ba­dos.

Bar­ba­dos quick­ly tooka 3-0 lead, ap­pear­ing poised for a win. Nev­er­the­less, the youth team's cap­tain, Vivek Gup­ta, dis­played his skills and ini­ti­at­ed a re­mark­able come­back. He won his sin­gles match, fol­lowed by an­oth­er vic­to­ry by Joshua Young, who has been ex­cep­tion­al in the tour­na­ment, win­ning all his sin­gles match­es.

Ul­ti­mate­ly, Team T&T se­cured a win in the fi­nal team match, achiev­ing a cru­cial 3-3 draw. Cur­rent­ly in fourth place, they will not com­pete again un­til Fri­day (Ju­ly 26) when they face Turks & Caicos.
