Following a commanding performance in round three of the Caribbean Cup of Darts in Jamaica, the T&T senior team maintained their unbeaten record with a resounding 10-2 victory over Turks and Caicos on Wednesday (July 24).
The competition consisted of 12 matches divided into three blocks, with team T&T asserting their dominance from the outset. By the conclusion of the first block, they had already established a 3-1 lead.
Block 2 witnessed a clean sweep, spearheaded by Charmaine Harrington Marshall's impressive 2-0 singles win. In the final block, T&T secured a 3-1 victory, solidifying their position in second place without a loss and with a game in hand. The senior team was scheduled to face Bahamas in the morning session and Barbados in the evening session on Friday (July 26).
The youth team participated in two matches. The first match was againstBahamas in the morning. The game began well with T&T leading 2-0 after the first two blocks. Despite Bahamas making a comeback to level the score at 2-2, T&T managed to go ahead 3-2 and had an opportunity to win the entire match. However, Bahamas held on, resulting in a 3-3 draw. In the afternoon, the team faced Barbados.
Barbados quickly tooka 3-0 lead, appearing poised for a win. Nevertheless, the youth team's captain, Vivek Gupta, displayed his skills and initiated a remarkable comeback. He won his singles match, followed by another victory by Joshua Young, who has been exceptional in the tournament, winning all his singles matches.
Ultimately, Team T&T secured a win in the final team match, achieving a crucial 3-3 draw. Currently in fourth place, they will not compete again until Friday (July 26) when they face Turks & Caicos.
