Surinamese singer Danitsia Sahadewsing
If you haven’t seen Danitsia Sahadewsing’s blind audition on The Voice of Holland last month, then you missed one of the competition’s most unexpected moments (but there’s always Google!). She delivered Patrice Roberts’ 2015 hit, ‘Old and Grey,’ officially putting soca music on the Dutch map and introducing the genre to an international audience mostly unfamiliar with its infectious energy. Her performance was everything a Trinbagonian would be proud of — brave, bold, and confident.

Lyris Graham-Williams, deputy chief operations officer and chief security officer at Amalgamated Security Services Limited.
Lyris Graham-Williams knows what it means to lead, and to follow. At home, her husband takes the reins, and she embraces her role as wife and helper, grounded in their Christian faith and mutual respect. But for two years at Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL), the roles reversed. In the office, he reported to her.

Madienne Mahon-Henry
A communications professional, sales executive and lifelong student of leadership, Mahon-Henry has worn many hats over the years. Yet the title she is preparing to embrace most fully is “author,” with the upcoming launch of her devotional book Spiritual Hide and Seek, a work rooted in the enduring power of Psalm 91 and the idea that faith must be lived, not merely recited.

Natalie Simone Miles
Terneille Samuel Herbert knows the value of getting opportunities to shine in the performing arts as a child all too well. From being trained by some of the top local professionals in dance, theatre and music, to placing second in TTT’s Twelve and Under competition, she remains grateful. And now, years later, she has chosen to give back to youths through TalentPot—a competition for kids.

Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day, but do we eat breakfast daily? Unfortunately, it is often regarded as the most forgotten meal of the day. Women usually skip this meal because of busy schedules, work demands or even the belief that it helps with weight loss. Eating balanced meals, specifically breakfast, can improve women’s health, energy level and long-term wellness, but it depends on what we feed our bodies.

CANARI’s executive director, Nicole Leotaud, at the Mermaid Pool, Matura.
When it comes to the conversation of climate change, Nicole Leotaud would rather roll her sleeves up and get into the communities across the Caribbean that are being affected the most. The executive director of the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) has spent the last three decades in environmental governance and management across the region and believes that the work must be grounded in the lived experiences of communities.

Arundhati Roy speaking at a public forum on democracy and civil rights.
On 28 February 2026, the United States and Israel attacked Iran in the opening wave of what Washington called Operation Epic Fury and Israel called Operation Roaring Lion. During those first strikes, a missile hit the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ elementary school in the southern Iranian city of Minab while classes were underway. Between 168 and 180 people died, and about 95 were injured, most of them schoolchildren, many of them girls between seven and twelve years old.
