A pub­lic cam­paign against the con­tin­ued lead­er­ship of UNC leader Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar has start­ed.

This was con­firmed by UNC ac­tivist De­vant Ma­haraj yes­ter­day af­ter a medi­um-sized bill­board was put up on Fri­day night at a lo­ca­tion on the Churchill-Roo­sevelt High­way near Aranguez protest­ing Per­sad-Bisses­sar’s lead­er­ship.

It states: Thank You Kam­la. Time to Go. 11 loss­es in a row.”

Ma­haraj who has been lead­ing calls for Per­sad-Biss­esasr to step down as the par­ty’s po­lit­i­cal leader since the UNC lost the Au­gust 10 gen­er­al elec­tion, added: “ This is the first and it’s a con­tin­u­a­tion of the build­ing of a wave of sen­ti­ment from var­i­ous quar­ters across Trinidad and To­ba­go to save the UNC. More bill­boards will be put up acros Trinidad and To­ba­go.”

“Many peo­ple are will­ing to fi­nance this and they’re all be­ing screened to en­sure there is no PNM in­put in this. This is UNC peo­ple try­ing to save their par­ty,” Ma­haraj said.
