Dead man found in car in Arima

A 47-year-old man was found dead in a car in Ari­ma on Wednes­day (20 Jan­u­ary 2021) night.

Po­lice said pre­lim­i­nary in­ves­ti­ga­tions showed that the body bore no marks of vi­o­lence.  How­ev­er, an au­top­sy is to be done at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre to de­ter­mine the ac­tu­al cause of death.

The body was iden­ti­fied as Daniel Bood­hoo, of Lot #6 Har­mo­ny Dri­ve, Ma­tu­ri­ta Trace Ari­ma.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 3:30 pm, of­fi­cers act­ed on in­for­ma­tion re­ceived and went to Lot 20 East­ern Main Road, Ma­tu­ri­ta Vil­lage, Ari­ma, in the vicin­i­ty of HD Sta­tion­ary Zone.

On ar­rival, the first re­spon­ders ob­served a man slumped in the dri­ver seat of a white Hon­da Ac­cord.  The man was of East In­di­an de­scent, medi­um built, brown in com­plex­ion, ap­prox­i­mate­ly five feet five inch­es tall, clad in a white t-shirt and blue three-quar­ter pants and wear­ing a pair of black shoes.

The scene was processed, and the of­fi­cers re­cov­ered a red gas can­is­ter filled with a liq­uid be­lieved to be gaso­line.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
