Morvant Rideshare driver abducted and robbed

A Mor­vant woman, who op­er­ates as a TT Rideshare dri­ver, was ab­duct­ed and robbed of her car and valu­ables by peo­ple pre­tend­ing to be cus­tomers on Tues­day.

Po­lice said the 47-year-old, of Mer­le Street, Mor­vant, ac­cept­ed a re­quest to pick up a client by the name of “Ak­il” at Semp Street, Mor­vant, to be tak­en to Mar­aval around 12.30 am.

Up­on ar­rival at the lo­ca­tion, a white Ti­i­da blocked the dri­ver’s car, fol­low­ing which two masked men of African de­scent, dressed in dark cloth­ing and armed with guns, ap­proached and or­dered her out.

Forc­ing her in­to her ve­hi­cle’s back seat, the men en­tered her car and drove north along the La­dy Young Road, Mor­vant.

The sus­pects or­dered the woman out as they passed by the Look­out and told her to lie on the ground be­fore they sped off.

The vic­tim flagged down a pass­ing am­bu­lance and was tak­en to the Mor­vant Po­lice Sta­tion.

Of­fi­cers re­cov­ered the car around 2.30 am at Roble Street, Mor­vant.
