A Morvant woman, who operates as a TT Rideshare driver, was abducted and robbed of her car and valuables by people pretending to be customers on Tuesday.
Police said the 47-year-old, of Merle Street, Morvant, accepted a request to pick up a client by the name of “Akil” at Semp Street, Morvant, to be taken to Maraval around 12.30 am.
Upon arrival at the location, a white Tiida blocked the driver’s car, following which two masked men of African descent, dressed in dark clothing and armed with guns, approached and ordered her out.
Forcing her into her vehicle’s back seat, the men entered her car and drove north along the Lady Young Road, Morvant.
The suspects ordered the woman out as they passed by the Lookout and told her to lie on the ground before they sped off.
The victim flagged down a passing ambulance and was taken to the Morvant Police Station.
Officers recovered the car around 2.30 am at Roble Street, Morvant.
