Guayaguayare watchman Mark Christopher was fatally shot a short distance from his workplace on Tuesday night.
According to a report, around 9 pm, Christopher, 36, of Newlands, was walking with a female security officer along Guayaguayare Road. The woman left Christopher and he continued walking towards his workplace at La Savanne Circular.
Police said Christopher was accosted by a lone gunman who shot him at close range. The suspect ran off as Christopher slumped to the ground.
Residents called the police after observing Christopher bleeding on the road. He was pronounced dead on arrival to district health facility.
No motive has been disclosed for the killing. A party of officers including Insp Williams, and Sgt Harper of the Mayaro CID and Eastern Division Task Force visited the scene. Five spent shells were retrieved from the crime scene.
Diego man gunned down
A man was killed while in the kitchen of his home on Tuesday night.
His killer remains a mystery, according to police.
It was reported that shortly after 10 pm relatives of Nathaniel Russell heard several loud explosions while at their home at Holder Lane, Bagatelle, Diego Martin.
They later found Russell, 28, slumpedon the kitchen floor bleeding from gunshot wounds.
He was taken to the St James Medical Centre where he died.
Investigating officers said it is unsure as to if Russell's shooter was in the house at the time or whether the shooter shot him while outside the house.
Investigations are continuing.

Wallerfield man ID killers before dying
Northern Division Police are searching for a group of men from
Wallerfield who allegedly beat a neighbour to death on Tuesday.
According to reports, around 1 pm on Tuesday, police officers were on
patrol along Brazil Road, Wallerfield, when they saw a bleeding man
lying at the side of the road.
The victim, who was later identified as Ecliff Jenning, 49, of Jacob
Hill, Wallerfield, was able to identify his attackers to police while
en-route to hospital.
He died shortly after arriving at the Arima Health Facility.
The suspects had not been arrested up to late yesterday, but
investigators said arrests are imminent as they are well known to
police.
The three killings pushed the murder toll to 91
