SWRHA INVESTIGATES MEDIA INCIDENT

The South-West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) takes note of an incident on the compound of the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH), involving members of the media and SWRHA contracted security personnel.

The SWRHA has immediately commenced an investigation to understand the circumstances which led to the unfortunate incident and determine the appropriate and necessary course of action to follow. In the interim, SWRHA has been in contact with the external provider.

Additionally, the SWRHA expresses regret that such unfortunate incident occurred and wishes to restate our commitment to respect for the freedom of the press.  SWRHA underscores the importance of and thanks the media for their continued support and cooperation as we seek to respond to the global pandemic.
