De­spite los­ing their pre­lim­i­nary round match to Fort King George Gun­ners, Buc­coo Reef Divers topped the stand­ings at the Chief Sec­re­tary Bago T10 Crick­et Blast Tour­na­ment and have se­cured a place in the fi­nal which card­ed for Fri­day at 7 pm at the Cyd Gray Sport­ing Com­plex in Rox­bor­ough, To­ba­go.

With four wins and a washout from their six match­es, they fin­ished on 13 points and will face the win­ner of the Rain­for­est Rangers ver­sus Lit­tle To­ba­go Is­landers which were card­ed to bat­tle in the play-off on Thurs­day night.

Fort King George who was knocked out of the tour­na­ment won their fi­nal match by nine runs. Gun­ners bat­ted first and scored 78 for eight off 10 overs. Ja­son Per­saud play­ing his first game made 22 not out. Spin­ner Kwani Thomas was the pick of the bowlers with three wick­ets for five runs, while Ar­nel Jones took two wick­ets for three runs.

Buc­coo giv­en their im­pres­sive record thus far was ex­pect­ed to run away with the vic­to­ry but it was not to be. Buc­coo was re­strict­ed to 69/6 off 10 overs with Ato James tak­ing 2/10.

In the sec­ond game, Rain­for­est Rangers bat­ted first and scored 74/4 off 10 overs. Navin Stew­art was the best of the bats­men yet again for Buc­coo, scor­ing a rapid 33. He is at the top of the run-scor­ing chart with 233 runs.

Open­er Re­nal­do Leza­ma cracked 34 to take Lit­tle To­ba­go Is­landers to vic­to­ry at 75/4.
