T&T's Se­moy Hack­ett won a bronze in the women's 200 me­tres at the Boston Uni­ver­si­ty John Thomas Ter­ri­er Clas­sic in Mass­a­chu­setts, USA, yes­ter­day.

The Em­pire Club sprint­er clocked 23.91 sec­onds to fin­ish third over­all in the timed fi­nal. The open­ing race was the fastest race in the 23 sec­tions with with Amer­i­cans Joan­na Atkins (23.21) of Reko­r­ton Elite and Jes­si­ca Beard (23.48), Hack­ett's club­mate, plac­ing first and sec­ond re­spec­tive­ly

An­oth­er T&T sprint­er picked up a bronze on Fri­day, Michelle-Lee Ahye fin­ished third in the women's 60m at the ISTAF In­door track and field meet in Berlin, Ger­many.

Ahye crossed in a sea­son's best 7.16 to fol­low Ger­man Tat­jana Pin­to (7.13) and Switzer­land's Mu­jin­ga Kam­bund­ji (7.14), to the line.

At the Boston meet, Dawnell Col­ly­more claimed a bronze medal as well part­ner­ing with her Mon­roe Col­lege team­mates to fin­ish third in the 4x400m re­lay in 3:52.57. Ear­li­er, she placed 27th in the women's 800m in 2:16.20.

Rue­bin Wal­ters re­mains per­fect in his se­nior year at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Al­aba­ma, seal­ing an­oth­er gold medal in the men's 60m hur­dles at the Bob Pol­lock In­vi­ta­tion­al at Clem­son Uni­ver­si­ty In­door Com­plex US on Fri­day.

It is third time in three meets this sea­son that the Crim­son Tide ju­nior has won gold in the event, win­ning in a time of 7.70, which ranks as the fourth-fastest time in school his­to­ry. Wal­ters now owns five of the 10-fastest times ever run in the event at Al­aba­ma. He al­so ad­vance with the fastest qual­i­fy­ing time of 7.76.

Yes­ter­day, his school­mate Por­tious War­ren, a ju­nior, copped a sil­ver medal in the women's shot put with her best mark mea­sur­ing 15.49m, her third at­tempt. She al­so had throws of 12.86, 15.48, 13.78, 15.24 and 15.15.

An­oth­er ju­nior at Al­aba­ma, Mauri­cia Pri­eto was sec­ond in heat three of the women's 200m in 24.09 and placed ninth over­all in the timed fi­nal while Re­yare Thomas (Un­at­tached) was 11th in 24.23.

Thomas al­so com­pet­ed in the women's 60m the day be­fore and placed 14th in 7.56 sec­onds.

On Fri­day evening at the Ra­zor­back In­vi­ta­tion­al in Fayet­teville, Arkansas, Tyra Git­tens of Texas A&M won a bronze medal in the women's pen­tathlon tal­ly­ing 4009 points. She placed sec­ond in both the high jump (916) and long jump (816); was fourth in both the 60m hur­dles (916) and the shot put (682); and earned 593 af­ter plac­ing sev­enth in the 800m.

Sopho­more Akan­ni His­lop of Louisiana State Uni­ver­si­ty (LSU) ran a per­son­al best 21.16 to win sec­tion four of the men's 200m timed fi­nal but missed out on a medal af­ter plac­ing fourth over­all.

LSU ju­nior Za­kiya De­noon placed sec­ond in the women's ver­sion of the race in sec­tion sev­en in 23.61, to have the 11th quick­est time.
