Merryboys Sports Club delivered a commanding performance to open Day 4 of the Trinidad T20 Festival 2026, overpowering Profilbau Victoria United Sports Club by 56 runs at the Queen’s Park Oval in St Clair, Port-of-Spain, Sunday (May 10).
Batting first after losing the toss, Merryboys set a competitive target of 153/7 in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was anchored by a steady, unbeaten 45 from Narad Kyle Kissoondath, who struck four boundaries and a six off 32 balls, ensuring stability in the middle. Early impetus was provided by American youth player Ansh Bhoje, whose quickfire 24 came off just 14 balls, giving Merryboys a solid start.
The lower order hit hard towards the end, with Jacen Agard smashing an explosive 18 from only 6 balls, including two towering sixes, to push the total past the 150-run mark. Despite the onslaught, Victoria United’s Daniel Babb remained resilient, claiming 2-19 in his four-over spell.
In reply, Profilbau Victoria United crumbled under the pressure of a disciplined Merryboys bowling attack. Only Matthew Patrick, who remained unbeaten on 30 off 34 balls, and Duane Charles, who scored 22, including two sixes, showed resistance. Other batsmen failed to make significant contributions, with no one else reaching double figures.
Merryboys’ Andrew Rambaran was the standout bowler, earning the "Man of the Match" award for a devastating spell of 4-13 in four overs. Support came from Nicholas Wellington and Surauv Worrel, who took two wickets each, as Profilbau Victoria United was bundled out for a mere 97 runs in 18.3 overs.
QPCC I dominate GFM Central Sports Yorkshire
In an emphatic display of skill and precision, Nu-Iron QPCC delivered a dominant performance to defeat Glo Frank Motors (GFM) Central Sports Yorkshire by nine wickets on Day 3 of the Trinidad T20 Festival at the Queen’s Park Oval, on Saturday (May 9).
Winning the toss and opting to field, QPCC’s bowlers immediately took control of the game. Central Sports Yorkshire struggled to build momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually being restricted to a modest 141/9. Videsh Sookhai played a lone hand with a resilient 48 off 37 balls, but the QPCC attack was relentless. Vasant Singh was the primary destroyer with 4-31, while Tion Webster claimed 3-15 to to ensure Yorkshire never got near a threatening total.
When QPCC came out to bat, they executed a textbook chase, showcasing why they are among the favourites for the title. Opener, Barbadian Kadeem Alleyne, whose exceptional performance earned him the "Man of the Match" award, blazed his way to an unbeaten 80 runs off just 52 deliveries. Alleyne’s innings was punctuated with 10 fours and two towering sixes, highlighting his flawless stroke play and aggressive approach.
He received excellent support from Webster, who remained not out on 43 as the duo compiled an imposing 119-run partnership for the second wicket. Their partnership effectively dismantled Yorkshire’s bowling attack, allowing QPCC to reach their target comfortably in 16.5 overs, finishing on 142 for just one wicket down.
