Keston Bledman will get his 2012 Olympic campaign off when he lines up in the Millrose Games 60m dash at the Armory in Manhattan, New York, USA tomorrow. The 2005 World Youth 100m bronze medallist will face an American quartet led by Reggie Dixon who is ranked eighth on the 2012 indoor 60m list with a 6.60 clocking and Travis Padgett who has a personal best of 6.55 seconds. Canadian Sam Effah and Great Britain's Tyrone Edgar are also in the field. Bledman is one of seven local sprinters who have attained the Olympic 100m standard of 10.18 with his splendid 9.93 clocking in Florida in June last year.
Sprinter hurdler Aleesha Barber is among the starters in the women's 60m hurdles event. The 2010 CAC Games 100m hurdles champion will be seeking to improve her season's best of 8.17 which she set on January 27. American Kristi Castlin will start as favourite following her 7.94 clocking, the second quickest for the year. Great Britain's Tiffany Porter (8.00) and another American Nicole Denby (8.16) should push the T&T's Saucony sponsored athlete to a quick time.
