Two men were in se­ri­ous but sta­ble con­di­tion at hos­pi­tal yes­ter­day evening af­ter con­sum­ing cof­fee and tea which were al­leged­ly giv­en to them by an 11-year-old girl.

Po­lice sus­pect that the drinks were laced with a poi­so­nous sub­stance.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, on Tues­day evening, the men, ages 53 and 44, went to vis­it their friend at his home in Cou­va, as the man was not feel­ing well.

Guardian Me­dia was told by po­lice that while they were at the house, the girl made cof­fee and tea for the vic­tims.

Po­lice said im­me­di­ate­ly af­ter con­sum­ing the hot drinks, both men start­ed feel­ing un­well and be­gan vom­it­ing be­fore col­laps­ing.

The two were rushed to the near­by health fa­cil­i­ty for treat­ment.

Po­lice said the child was be­ing ques­tioned in con­nec­tion with the in­ci­dent.
