A National Lotteries Control Board (NLCB) booth in Whim, Tobago, was robbed on Saturday afternoon.
According to police, two masked gunmen entered Mills Place, which houses an NLCB outlet and an adjacent bar, and announced a hold-up.
CCTV footage outside the establishment showed the men entering the compound before they can be heard ordering people to lie on the ground.
The employee controlling the booth became fearful for her life and handed over $2,930 to the bandits.
“Monster, lewwe go,” one of the robbers shouted, before they ran to a silver Nissan Note parked nearby and made their getaway.
Speaking with Guardian Media yesterday, the proprietor of the establishment, who preferred to stay anonymous, said it was not the first time her business has been targeted.
She recalled four years ago the NLCB booth was also robbed, but police were able to apprehend the suspects.
An employee yesterday said the incident has left her traumatised and worried for her safety.
She said the area was not as safe as before.
Police are continuing investigations.
