A shoot­ing in east Port of Spain this morn­ing has left one man dead, and two oth­ers wound­ed.

Po­lice said res­i­dents in the area re­port­ed see­ing a black BMW on St Paul Street near Rod­ney Street around 8am.

Two gun­men got out of the car and shot sev­er­al peo­ple, be­fore get­ting back in and dri­ving off.

One of the men iden­ti­fied as Ja­son Alexan­der died at the scene.

An­oth­er man was shot in his stom­ach and the oth­er was shot in his leg.

They were tak­en to hos­pi­tal by passers­by.

Po­lice found the black BMW used in the shoot­ing aban­doned near the Mar­itime Round­about in Barataria short­ly af­ter.
