One man was killed and four oth­ers in­jured when gun­men opened fire on a group of men play­ing a game of cards at a house at Or­ange Field Road, Cara­pichaima, on Sun­day night.

Po­lice iden­ti­fied the vic­tim as Ken Castil­lo, 44, of Mun­gal Trace, Or­ange Field Road.
Those in­jured were a 36-year-old from Or­ange Field Road, a 28-year-old from Mun­gal Trace, a 27-year-old from Prim­rose Dri­ve and an­oth­er man from Lyons Dri­ve.

Po­lice said at 10.10 pm, the men were en­gaged in a game of cards at the back of a house when gun­men ran in and opened fire on them.
Castil­lo was killed on the spot.

The in­jured men were tak­en to the Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty by rel­a­tives and neigh­bours for med­ical at­ten­tion.

Po­lice are yet to de­ter­mine a mo­tive.

Last week, a mass shoot­ing in Co­corite left one man dead and two oth­ers in­jured. It came days af­ter a sim­i­lar in­ci­dent oc­curred in Gon­za­les, Bel­mont, that left four dead and eight in­jured.
In May, a mass shoot­ing in Co­corite re­sult­ed in four men be­ing killed and eight peo­ple wound­ed.
